How could the nations be so deceived as to follow the wishes of this evil king? A false prophet will arise to deceive the world with miraculous signs. And this false prophet will himself be deceived by the royal splendor of this evil king. See Rev 13:11 - 17 He will think that this king is very great because of the grandeur of his prestige. He will give honor and praise to this evil king because he is deluded by the glory of this royal theme. For this false prophet will not be born into royalty. And he will have no distinction from the military. So he will glorify this evil king because he also wants to rule and reign. Does he honor this evil king in the hope of eternal things? He worships this evil king for the fleeting glory that it may bring. Thus, this evil king will give him great power and authority. But the prophet of this evil king will only use his power to deceive. Yet would this evil king grant power over many nations to someone with no experience in government? This false prophet will also have been a head of state over a strong nation. For if the leaders of strong nations did not honor this evil king, then he could not rule in such a crises that will come to test our confidence. Or would this evil king grant someone great power and authority in order to persuade the nations not to join his regime? The evil king will grant him authority in order to unite the nations under his name. For this false prophet will have had some experience in uniting diverse peoples in a common theme. So the evil king will find it to his advantage to give this man power and authority.
