And what gives them
  the right to rule?
Do they rule by faith
  in what is true?
No!
They think they can
  establish what is right
by sheer force of might.

They don’t allow anyone
  to comfort you
with the knowledge of
  eternal life.
For they wish to keep us
  captive to our fear of death
so they can more efficiently
  control you with
  intimidation.
They don’t have any intention
  to honor Jesus.
For they would rather
  glorify themselves instead.
They would rather
  justify killing others
  for selfish gain
then to believe
  that God will save.
And the more they struggle
  to get their way,
the more of a victory
  they dare to claim.
So they suppress the hope
  that God can save
so they can
  perpetuate the myth
  that they are brave.

They would like us to think
  that they are great and noble.
They would like us to think
  that they are heroes
  who protect the world.
But they are dedicated
  to the proposition
  that God does not save.
And they are devoted
  to perpetuating
  the fear of the grave.
So they fight against
  any faith in God
because they wish to
  promote themselves instead.

And those who honor him
  only prove they are cowards.
Why should they
  obey his words?
They don’t obey
  simply because they know
  it’s right.
But they only obey because
  they fear the threat
  that he implies -
that hell awaits them
  when they die.

They will agree with anything
  these evil ones say
because they fear the whip,
  the sword, and the grave.
For their men carry weapons
  with which to slay
and to kill you
  if you don’t obey.

So they swear their allegiance
  for a loaf of bread.
And they worship
  this evil man
less they otherwise
  end up dead.
They honor this devil
  with great zeal
just for the chance
  to buy or sell.
And they do anything
  that he says
lest they otherwise die
  and go to hell.
