Yes, he will be completely deceived by the time he is condemned. For his efforts to gain power will succeed. Many will honor and worship him. Miracles will be done in his name. And he will do great signs and wonders too. He lives his life in opposition to the Truth. He contradicts God in everything he does. Thus, his life will finally no doubt prove to be the opposite to that of the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ approached Jerusalem from the North - from Galilee. The antichrist shall approached Jerusalem from South of the City. Jesus entered Jerusalem in humility - He came gently riding on a donkey. But the antichrist shall come arrogantly - riding on a black stallion and strutting proudly. Jesus was welcomed by those carrying palm branches. But the antichrist will be welcomed by those who carry weapons. Jesus spent seven days on the Temple Mount preaching about the kingdom of God and doing miracles of love. But the antichrist will spend seven days on the Temple Mount exalting himself and denouncing God. He will do miracles to inspire fear among the nations in order to gather the nations to himself. After His humiliation Jesus left Jerusalem into heavenly bliss. But after his fleeting glory the antichrist will leave Jerusalem into everlasting contempt, never to be seen or heard of again.
