Long ago in ages past, they rejected the only one who could save them. And if anyone should reject salvation from God, then he has chosen destruction instead. What they did to Him was done to them. They were scattered among the nations. And they suffered persecution. But what can be said about all of this? And how can anyone possibly accept it? The salvation of God is for all the nations and not only just for one. But as long as the Jews were in their home land, other nations might think that they are excluded from God. So the Jews were scattered over the face of the earth so that all the world might have a chance to learn that the grace of God can also be theirs if only they would accepted His Word. See Romans 11:11, 11:25 And so this is the proof that God has not forsaken them forever, and this is the sign that they will recover: When most of the earth has finally heard, then they will again return. See Romans 11:26 And when those scattered among all the nations finally return to where they first began, then we shall see what they have learned. The central issues will be addressed, the ultimate questions shall be asked, and the Truth Itself shall be manifest until everyone has heard. Why have you come back again? What is it that you hope to gain from it? Are you returning to the root from which you sprang? Do you wish to start all over again? Then do not be half-hearted, but fulfill your good intent. Go back to the place where you first began so you may finally come to understand. Or did you return to this place again because of persecution among the nations? Did you forsake all the nations because it is a world of sin? Then do not be half-hearted, but do as you have said. Humble yourselves and repent and forsake this world of sin. "Come out of it and be holy! Touch no unclean thing!" as the prophets of old have said. See Isaiah 52:11
