So when will the nations
  learn
that God controls
  the earth?
How will God
  make it clear
that His judgment of them
  is near?
How can the entire world
  be warned
of the serious nature
  of His scorn?

History has proven
  in the past
that if things should go on
  as they have,
then the world will never
  seek righteousness
but become more complacent
  and arrogant.

So God will warn them
  of His hatred of sin.
And He will show them
  the power that He has
  over them.
And if they continue
  to rebel instead,
then they will
  justly deserve
  their punishment.

And how will it
  be made clear
that this warning comes
  from God?
He will send this awesome
  portent
from the heavens up above.
But will there be
  no sign from God
that this event
  will soon come?
Then how would those
  who are wise among them
prepare to witness
  the power of God?
We shall see its coming
  in the stars above
as it makes its way
  ever closer to us.

So what kind of
  great event
can warn all men
  of His coming wrath?
What would you expect -
  something pleasant,
  or a plague instead
when He wishes to show
  His hatred for sin?

Fire will fall
  from heaven
and consume many nations.                      See Joel 2:30-31
Then we shall see
  who of them will repent
and who will become
  more arrogant.

And what in all the heavens
  could be the sign
  of the coming
  of this great fire?
A star, blazing like a torch,
  will fall from the sky.
For a comet
  will strike the earth.                                I believe that a comet is 
                                                                the correct interpretation
Fire will fall                                               of  Rev 8:6-9:2
  from the sky
and devour
  the fields and trees
  and many of the dwellings                      Prophetic timing of events.
  of mankind.
The lakes
  and the streams
  will turn blood red.
Smoke from the impact
  will darken the sky.
And ashes
  will rain down upon men.
