The Truth Is

Yet
no one does anything
  without excuse.
There’s always a reason
for the things that you do.
So what exactly
  are you trying to prove?
And what do your deeds
  prove about you?

According to your faith
  is it done unto you.
And things are as
  you believe them to be.
For if things are not
as you believe them to be,
then
you would not know
  how to respond to
  the things you perceive.
And if things are not
  done unto you
  according to your faith,
then
  you would not know
  how to behave.

But can you believe
  just any arbitrary thing
  you wish?
That would be
  to contradict
the definition
  of believing it.
For your faith
  is what you have come
  to honestly expect.
It is what you most truly
  understand.
It is the most basic premise
  of your argument.
It is the principle
  by which you live.
It is the most fundamental
  precept
on which your behavior rest.

Your deeds demonstrate
  what you believe in,
and your faith inspires
  your actions.
And all facts must be
  consistent
  to such an extent that
you will go to hell
or you will go to heaven
as surely as
  you act like it.

So the wicked
  by definition
act like they will
go to hell in the end.
They’re quick to take
  advantage
of every opportunity
  while they can.
They horde all the
  money, honor, and pleasure
  they can get
while they have the chance.
For
they don’t believe
  they have forevermore
to indulge their
  selfish whims before
they go without
  and suffer want
of all the things that they
  adore.
They even risk
  their very lives
for fleeting moments
  of delight.
For they
  expect to suffer anyway
  when eventually they die.

They spend their strength
  in vain
as they struggle
  to obtain
pleasure, honor, money,
  and fame
because in truth
  they are afraid
that they will otherwise
  starve and suffer pain.
For they don’t believe
  that God will save.
And they fear the terrors
  of the grave.
