Yet why does this evil king continue to rebel? What makes this man think that he is so invincible? How can he continue to be so arrogant? What right does he think he has to challenge the glory of the Lord Jesus? He will be mortally wounded and yet miraculously healed, and so he will think that he is invincible. He will claim to have died and come back to life, and he will challenge the authority of Jesus Christ. For the ultimate delusion of conceit and pride is to think that you are invincible when you are really going to die. And what deceives men more than the lie that you can rebel against God and forever survive? See Genesis 3:4 The moment that the comet does strike the evil one will come to life. He will come back to life in the midst of flame, and from then on he will think that he's great. But he will not ascend into heaven, and he will not report what he saw while dead. For the only reward he will ever get is in this world of evil men. For the age of grace and forgiveness was started by the rising of the Lord Jesus. But the beginning of rage and of judgment will come with the rise of this evil one. And so the rebellion of the evil one will seem especially arrogant, for the authority of the Lord Jesus will have long been established. For three and one-half years Jesus did the miraculous. So three and one-half years will also be given to the evil one in order to perform his task. For they both must walk through the history of men. So they are the same in that respect. See timing of prophetic events But their purpose and intent are complete opposites. So their deeds will completely contradict. For the death of Jesus Christ only caused Him to come back to life. But the coming to life of the antichrist will cause him to be thrown into the lake of fire. Jesus Christ went about doing miracles of love until He finally achieved the resurrection. But the antichrist will rise from the dead and then do miracles of war until he is condemned.
