The western religions primarily come form the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. Christianity adheres to both the Old and New Testaments, the Jewish religion adheres to only the Old Testament. Traditionally, those of the Jewish persuasion do not recognize the validity of the New Testament, whereas Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah predicted in the Old Testament.
Jesus was born in the land of Israel to a Jewish family. His efforts were primarily focused on ministering to the Jews who are obligate to follow the law of Moses. Yet he has gain much fame among the gentiles. And many even use the word "God" when referring to him.
So, then the question must be asked, if Jesus is truly God, then how is the person of Jesus consistent with the law of Moses? How does the New Testament further the understanding of God that was started in the Old Testament? And where does the Law of Moses predict that God will become a man?
But an argument can be made from Scripture that God will come to us in human form.
